Solent Primary Medical Care Services (SPMCS) aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We want families, professionals, and people who use our services to find information clearly, navigate with a keyboard or screen reader, and adjust the site to suit their needs.

What we have done
- Added a visible skip link to main content on every page.
- Provided text size, high-contrast, and reduced-motion controls that persist using cookies.
- Associated form fields with visible labels, inline errors, and screen-reader announcements.
- Improved keyboard access for desktop menus, the mobile drawer, homepage tabs, and video dialog.
- Ensured each page has a single main heading, clearer focus indicators, and sticky-header scroll padding.
- Reviewed image alternative text, footer colour contrast, and added privacy and terms pages.
Known limitations
Some third-party content (for example embedded maps and video players) may not fully meet our target standard. Older PDF inspection reports linked from external regulators may also vary in accessibility. We continue to review these areas when content is updated.
